A. LEGAL NOTICE TO THE CHIEF SECRETARY.
ASGAA served a Legal notice to the Chief Secretary Govt. of Assam on dated…. To make a comprehensive Agarwood policy covering all kinds of benefits to the Agarwood farmers and small and medium traders of the state.
B. NEW DRAFT POLICY OF AGARWOOD 2014.
On the basis of Memorandum Submitted by ASGAA to the MoEF govt. of India asked a status report from the all North Eastern States and accordingly govt. of Assam forwarded a status report and prepared a draft policy. This draft policy has so many misinformation and against indegenious farmers. The Ministry of Government and Forest (MoEF) Government of India had prepared a draft policy for the sustainable utilization of Agarwood and to finalise a comprehensive Agarwood policy at Natural Level. So many mis-information and in-appropriate data without proper survey it was included and it is not in favour of Agarwood farmers. In a press meet at Titabor ASGAA condemnd the new draft policy.
C. WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2015 OBSERVED AT TITABAR.
ASGAA observed World Environment Day at Titabar in 2014. ASGAA distributed more than 5000 Agarwood saplings among Students and Agarwood Farmers. Two Nusery of Agarwood was set up by ASGAA in Jorhat and Golaghat Dist in the same year to strengthen the Agarwood community of the region.
D. ASGAA CENTRAL CONFERENCE.
Two days Central Conference of All Sanchi (Agar) Growers Association of Assam (ASGAA) was held at titabor, Jorhat. More than 1000 Agar farmers from different parts of north eastern States took part in the conference. In the conference 11 Nos demands were taken unanimously to place before the concerning Govt. authority both in Central as well as in the Central Govt. the two days conference was presided by ASGAA President Sri Lakheswar Bordoloi and inaugurated by Dr. Nimaichand Luwang of Manipur. In the said conference a Souveniur was published namely locally known as SANCHI (AGAR) and it was inaugurated by Mr. Eliho Angami
E. WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2015 OBSERVED AT GOLAGHAT.
World Environment day was observed by ASGAA at Golaghat in a Village area with the help of Agar Farmers. In the one day conference Mr. Junti Khound President of All Assam Small Tea Grower’s Association Presided the meeting as chief Guest and awareness camp was held among the farmers about agarwood plantation.
F. MEMORANDAM SUBMITTED TO MoEF SRI PRAKASH JAVADKAR.
A eleven Nos. demand included Memorandam was submitted by ASGAA in the hand of MoEF Sri Prakash Javedkar to solve the problems facing by Agarwood farmers in his Jorhat visit The high level officials were also present during the time of submission of Memorandam and assured to solve those problems. In the last part of Decembor Ministry sent a letter in where they asked to prepare a comments letter on the basis of which a draft policy can be made. Accordingly within a very short time with discussion of various persons and farmers we submitted a eight pages comments letter to the MoEF. After receiving this comments letter Govt. of India forwarded a letter to Govt. of Assam and a copy to ASGAA to frame a policy which is still pending.
G. WEBSITE AND LIFT LET PUBLISHED.
A website and a lift let was published on 3rd January 2015 at Titabor to facilate awareness among the agarwood farmers. The website is the first of its kind by any NGO of agarwood farmers among agarwood farmers in the Agarwood producing countries which is helping our farmers.
H. ASGAA TEAM VISITED GUJARAT, KARNATAKA AND MAHARASTRA.
On dated 19/1/15 to 26/1/2015 Team ASGAA visited plantation area in Karnataka and Nursery at Gujarat. Team visited Maharastra also and exchange of experiences in different context of Agarwood farmers
I. PRESS MEET AT JORHAT.
On dated 9/03/2016 a press meet was held at Jorhat in where Chief Patron of ASGAA and noted environmentalist Jaya Prakash Dabral was present. In the said press meet it was strongly demanded to implement farmer friendly policy and to safeguard the interest of indegenious farmers.
J. TEAM ASGAA MET HON’BLE GOVERNOR OF ASSAM, NAGALAND AND ARUNACHAL PRADESH.
ASGAA General Secretary Bikash Borah and Adviser cum Patron Dr. Raj Kumar Ranjan Singh visted and submitted a letter to the Hon’ble Governor P.B.Acharaiya implement a new Agarwood policy for the Agarwood plantation states.
K. PRESS MEET AT GOLAGHAT.
Team ASGAA a held a Press meet at Golaghat to highlight about illegal trading and Theft of Agarwood from Assam. Further, politicians and Forest officials how involve in the illegal trading was placed with video clip.
L. TALK SHOW ABOUT ILLEGAL AGARWOOD TRADING AT PRAG NEWS CHANEL.
After expose of illegal trade of Agarwood Assamese Premier Electronic Chanel invited team ASGAA to participate in a Topic about “REAL THINGS OF ILLEGAL AGARWOOD TRADE AND ITS NEXSUS BEHIND IT”. Our three Members namely Bikash Borah, General Secretary, Chandan Kalita Publication Secretary and Member cum eminent farmer Debajit Gogoi took part in the Talk show.
M. MEMORANDAM SUBMITTED TO THE FOREST MINISTER.
Six members consisting team ASGAA submitted a Memorandum to the Hon’ble r Forest Minister to implement all possible paras of BJP’s commitment as highlighted in VISION DOCUMENT to upgrade the economic conditions of Agarwood farmers.
N. MEMORANDUM TO COMBAT WORM ATTACK.
A memorandum was submitted by Team ASGAA to the district representative of Govt. of Assam to combat worm attack on Agarwood tree and to constitute a expert team to research about the matter immediately.
O. ASGAA TEAM PARTICIPATED IN NATIONAL SEMINAR AT GUWAHATI.
After Several round of talks by the govt. authority with Agarwood farmers, Traders and other stakeholders to prepare a draft policy for the region. In the one day seminar Hon’ble minister Mrs. Pramila Rani Brahma was also present along with other top officials. The demand of ASGAA were not reflected in the propose draft policy and assured to solve all after finalization of the same.
P. INDO-SRILANKA SRIRAMSETU AGARWOOD COMMUNITY.
All Sanchi (Agar) Growers Association of Assam invited a 26 nos of Srilankan Agarwood team to vist Assam to boost up and exchange of experience of cultivation and marketing in the respective field between the two countries. The team members represented by Sadaharitha Plantation Pvt. Ltd and opined that Assam is the capital of agarwood and due to its unique character and naturally infected character.
Q. ASGAA TEAM PARTICIPATED IN KRISHAK MELA.
Nine members ASGAA team was invited to KRISHAK MELAwas held at North Lakhimpur. Four members of ASGAA delivered their speech about cultivation and its future as earning source of family and govt. participation to frame proper guideline to do the business legally by our farmers. In the said Krishak Mela most of the farmers showed their interest to develop and cultivate of Agarwood in their private land.
R. MISSION GREEN VILLAGE.
All Sanchi (Agar) Growe’s Association of Assam ASGAA organized a series of programe in the border state in Nagaland to promote and create awareness among Agarwood farmers as Mission Green Village. The team started its work at Moyaimiti village on dated…… the meeting was presided by New President of ASGAA Dr. Raj Kumar Ranjan Singh and all members of team ASGAA were present with the villagers.
S. ENVIRONMENT DAY PROGRAME AT NAGALAND.
Team ASGAA observed one day environment day programe in Mokokchung District at Nagaland. More than 5000 saplings of Agarwood were planted and distributed in the public premises.
